Lindys' Stamp Gang July color challenge & Dt call

Hi to my crafty friends!!   I have been MIA on youtube & hiding here at home in my crafting room with a sketch in hand. Here is the process in which I created my canvas for the July Challenge.

I didnt' use all of these but this is what I picked to use.

I picked 2 of the 5 of these items to use.

Here I used versamark stamp ink to stamp and then add embossing powder to the fabulous filagrees and heat set them to make them this beautiful color to add to the corners of the 2nd and 3rd panels but now you can hardly see them in the photo.  The filagrees are also Lindys' Stamp gang.

The canvas once it was completely painted and sprayed; you really dont' see most of the pretty parts because they were covered.

I created a fashion show style canvas with a ton of Lindy's amazing products I will list each below for you and the other elements and items I used for this project.  I painted and sprayed the canvas with all the sprays below.  I then layered the red cardstock as you can see using a Christi Tomlinson vintage lace mask with scarlett peony red and a little spritz of banshee black.  I then took another layer and used Christi Tomlinson doodle mask, modeling paste and magical micas and created texture on the panels on either side of the middle panel, then I sprayed over the whole thing in the screaming banshee black.  The middle panel and runway were a lighter blue cardstock but then I sprayed over both with twinkling tinsel and don't eat golden snow.  The lindys sign was also sprayed with peony scarlett red and hydrangea blue and then I adhered mesh bling around it to make it look like a lighted marquis and the runway as well.  I used brilliance graphite black to stamp the Prima doll stamps out and Websters pages papers to paper piece each one of the girls and then I sprayed each one with a complimenting glimmer mist starburst spray.

Without further adieu here is my canvas...

Products used were:
1.  Starburst sprays in:  Twinkling tinsel, Peony scarlett red, Screaming banshee black, Don't eat golden snow,    Whale watch blue, and Hydrangea blue
2.  Fabulous Filagrees - ornamental swirl mat board images
3.  Embossing powder in Midnight gold
4.  Magical micas in Bachelor button blue

Thanks for looking I hope you like it.  I had fun creating it and now I'm off to get some zzzz's.  Best wishes to all the dt tryouts can't wait to see who they pick!  Wish me luck!  ~Kelly

Bohemian Bazaar butterflies in a card

Hi everyone it's Kelly and I have been doing another simple card tutorial that I want to share and I made these for a binder for a friend to have as notecards.  I used the Bohemian bazaar from the Graphic 45 paper collection I received from The Rubber Buggy.    I am loving working with this paper it's so bright and vibrant and I loved making these butterflies because I knew the paper has the right appeal for what I wanted to showcase.  I hope you like them, if you do click the link above to purchase from the store.  These are beautiful papers!  Thanks so much for looking!

Sand Castle Owen from Paper Nest Dolls

Hi everyone it's Kelly and I wanted to share my project today that I made using Sand Castle Owen.  This is a 6x6 page for my daughter's project life album and so there is no back, I used a glitz yours truly paper stack and a few K&company embellishments along with my copics to create this little layout.  I am very happy with it and if you are looking for this image head over to the Paper Nest dolls shop to find him for your summer projects.

DIY American girl doll house fun & creative ideas

From the handmade door on the wall to the wet wipes toilet container there are so many ideas and uses for creating your very own American Girl house.  Some ideas we got from MyFroggyStuff on youtube as well.  The styles, the colors, and accessories give no reason to waiting and thinking you have to spend thousands of dollars to make your dreams come true.  With just a metal shelf, some poster board and a little imagination my daughter and I created a whole home that her dolls can relax in and enjoy.

Not only that it's a great play place for her to have fun with her dolls and to create active little sceneries where the stuff actually comes to life in it's own element.  So without further ado here is what we created.

American girl house wall DIY

We used an old metal shelfing unit to make an American girl doll house for my daughter.  It cost nothing because my grandma got rid of it but you can purchase them for around $30 at Walmart or Target.  She did a video and it will be up on my youtube channel sometime next week so check back for more details on that but for the wall inside the house here are the materials you will need:

Posterboard 36" x 18"
Scrapbook paper
Miniature photo frame
Wood veneer boxes from Michaels
Old magazines
Hot glue
Some flowers for frame
Old button

Step 1.  Cover the posterboard to look like a wall.  We used scrapbook paper for the bottom and ribbon in the middle to look like a chair railing., then the same ribbon at the top to look like trim.

Step 2.  We made the door out of cardboard to add thickness.  We covered it in scrapbook paper, cut rectangles out of matching paper as the wall and made door accents.  The door looks similar to our own house front door.  The half circle on top was cut in a background paper of black, then we cut the image out of a magazine to look like the sky, those pieces were cut into 6 equal parts to look as though the window had trims around each window.  Then we added the button to look like a doorknob.  Adhere door to posterboard.

Step 3.   The miniature frame we cut a picture of the Eiffel tower out of it and glued it to the frame then I covered the top in flowers for a pretty accent and I covered the Eiffel tower image in glossy accents to look like real glass.  Adhere to posterboard with hot glue

Step 4.  The wood veneer boxes had wood veneers in for scrapbooking, I took them out and put them in a different storage case.  We painted the boxes black and then we found images from a magazine to look like a skyline view and we cut little strips of papers into squares that we could adhere into the box to look like the image of a window super fun!  Then we adhered that all to the posterboard.

VOILA!  Add to doll house and you are done super cute and super fun!

Thanks for looking I hope you can get some ideas on how to make a really cool space for your American girl!  ~Kelly

Layering & fussy cutting with The Rubber buggy

Hi scrappy friends it's Kelly.  Today I have a card that is very simple but a perfect example of layering and fussy cutting.  Sometimes you are in a hurry and aren't sure if you have time to color an image.  It's in those times I like to get out the most vibrant and intricate paper pads that I own such as the bohemian bazaar from Graphic 45 sold at The Rubber Buggy and fussy cut the most interesting images.  I then decide where to place them on a card and if I can adhere any flowers to add a little pizazz I will do that because I am the epitome of flowers anonymous.

Here is the card I created after fussy cutting the beautiful designs and the memories sign, I added a little ribbon, some flowers and presto....super simple but very lovely card for a friend or loved one.  Thanks for looking have a great Thursday!  ~Kelly

Way to go Washi

Here is some new Washi I had ordered from Hong Kong on ebay.    The user name was Forevertouchme (which yes is a little bit awkward) but the washi was $1.54 for 10 rolls and there are 2-3 ft on each roll so I didn't' think that was too terrible.  It's fun and I especially like the far right blue beachy ocean wave pattern.    Here is how I store my washi below, in a fishing tackle box and by color I have a thing for rainbow colors and so it makes it easier to pick out when I go to get whatever kind/color/style I need.   I am on a shopping restriction right now as a goal to myself, but when I can shop again I will be looking for purple washi.  I have none :(

I hope you like this I have a video uploading today about my washi storage.  I love it!  Thanks for coming to visit me today I should have more projects up real soon.  Have a great day!  ~Kelly

My family handmade mini album for sale on ebay

This auction is for a handmade paper pieced 6 inch mini chipboard album made by me.

I started off with a complete mini kit from my stash that all the papers and embellishments including diecuts and tags came from.  I then cut around the album to create the scallops from the chipboard, adhered everything down; pieced together the tags, mats and added flowers and titles at the end.

The first page layout is My Family with let the sunshine in tag, pearls charm, ribbons/fibers, bird stamp, diecut and tons of flowers.
The second page lo is 2 basic mats and some more flowers and titles.
The third page lo is again basic mats and titles with flowers & butterflies.
The fourth page lo is the tag page with slides for slipping tags right behind and the tags you receive will be pictured separately.  There is also a beautiful crochet ribbon, and stick pin here.
The fifth page lo is some geometric hexagon shapes which I love, super trendy and then my handmade zipper flowers which also very trendy right now and just like Prima but handmade.
The last page is one mat and the time of our lives super cute with butterfly and title in large font.

If you are interested here is the auction link...ebay listing....

Thanks for coming over to visit I hope you come back soon I love visitors and comments.  ~Kelly ♥
