Happy Dress up day...

My daughter is dressing up for school today, we dont' really celebrate much the idea of Halloween only the fun in dressing up in costumes but she does this all year round so what's one more day.  This year I took about 2 months to create this Statue of Liberty costume for her and her American girl doll.

Mbtreasurista DT Sneak Peek Sunday altered frame

Hi everyone it's Kelly.  I am back with a Design Team project for Sneak Peek Sunday at MbTreasurista.com.  

I am working on altered frames a lot lately and so for that subject my project is a black, white and brown altered frame 4 x 6.

 

What I created was from a $1.00 wooden frame from Michaels.  I painted it in black and stamped it white and embossed the words phrase from a Tim Holtz stamp set that I have.  I added a rosette flower and handmade flower along with a cardboard dress form from the Tim Holtz die sewing room collection and then I created a skirt from the cardboard as well and I used white acrylic paint to cover the cardboard and give it that shabby chic look.  Hope you like it!  ~Kelly

I'm always thinking of ways to save our family money and at Halloween with giving out lots of candy there is a great way to expand on your giving by repurposing old boxes into great little treat boxes.  Today for my Design team project I've taken a Kraft macaroni and cheese box and repurposed it into this cute adorable little treat box for Trick or treaters and with a few of Misty's goodies it made something brand new and super cute!
