You have my heart ♥
I am glad to
be showcasing my very first card for the Design Team for The Paper Nest
Dolls. I have some fun projects ahead of me and I hope to make even
more creations with Christine's beautiful doll stamps and digis. What I
created was a birthday/Valentines Day card for my daughter because she
was born the day after Valentines' Day so this was made for her. The
digi I used was called Avery's Heart Box and you can find it here http://www.etsy.com/listing/123112520/averys-heart-box?.

DIY Roller skating party invitations & treats
I created these little invitations cards and they are for my daughters Roller Skating party. I drew the outline cut it out and created a template to follow for the rest of them. I then punched holes along the edge and thread ribbon through up to the top and adhered a bow. I then used a Creative Memories circle punch and made the wheels and added buttons for flair.
Found molds for roller skates and lollipop candies on ebay. |
Then we painted black on the wheels and laces, I let my daughter help and she had so much fun, not perfect; but perfectly FUN! |
Finish off by tying with a string and some plastic wrap. |
What can you get for a penny? ¢.01 deals...
Recently I saw some videos on youtube where they talked about how to get cheap stuff from Michaels. The craft store known to our area to have some of the best deals of crafting supplies and also to have weekly coupons that sometimes cut the price in half, but is it really true the things that I was seeing, did they really have items that were coming down to a penny? I have a famous saying and it's you cant' even buy a gumball for a quarter but to find things like spellbinders nestabilities for a penny, 6x6 paper pads, stamps, embellishments and 12 x 12 crafting paper pads for a penny...well I didnt' find everything the people claimed they got and I do believe them for after traveling to 3 different Michaels stores I finally located undiscovered treasure in the paper aisle..sure enough ....there it was...the penny stacks. Here is my story:

This was the first one I ever did and I didn't know I had to keep it a certain size so it was a bit bigger than most. I still liked it. |

Teach me Tuesday Mbtreasurista resist techniques
Today is all about the resist techniques.
The first one is basic versamark stamping and embossing powder resist. Painting over the embossed image and then using a baby wipe to remove the top layer creates an amazing image of the embossed stamped piece.
The second one is just playing around with hot glue and not having a stencil or template to use I used hot glue to make a brick wall and then adhere embellishments from the store outside of it and now I can use it on a project. Stay tuned to see where that wall ends up.

Sue Paterno breaks her silence with Katie Couric on Monday
http://www.abc27.com/story/21077813/sue-paterno-breaks-silence-speaks-to-katie
I only live about an hour away from here so all this has been very real and touching to my heart. Without going into detail about everything that has transpired I want to send a prayer out to all those who have and were involved in the terrible criminal actions of one man & the coverups of many, but I also want people to know that this is very real. I was pretty neutral when it came to how I felt about Joe Paterno, I wasn't a super fan but I wasn't in dislike of him either; but the events the family has had to manage and the ordeal behind what he did or did not know came to rest when he passed. Nobody will ever know all the truth and this has affected not only the state college community but also for hundreds and thousands of miles surrounding it. I would say 1/4 of all of my and our sister high school alumni go to Penn State; so it rocks our community spirit as well. The sadness, hurt, pain, embarrassment and fear each victim must have felt & the horrible things they went through nobody should ever EVER have to experience that. I don't know how you rebuild after something like this but I am in prayer and hopeful that they can try one baby step at a time. ♥

DIY easy Valentine's Day treats
Yes, we've done it. We have jumped onto the trendy mustache train but so far the ride has been fun. My daughter loves this new mustache craze and she wanted to incorporate it into her Valentine's Day treats this year for her friends. We got the idea from pinterest and so we tweaked it a little and here is what we came up with.
Materials used were: Peppermint sticks, black cardstock, white cardstock, ribbon and a computer/printer to type out the font.
Instructions:
1..We folded the black paper in half and cut out the image of a chubby little bird; fat at one end and a tiny little flip up tale on the other. When you open it up, sure enough you have the image of a full blown mustache.
2. Next we adhered the mustache to the top of the peppermint stick and this will become your "costume-like" mustache face mask.
3. Decided on our font, and typed/printed out the saying ," I mustache you a questions, will you be my Valentine?".
4. Added bow to tag and adhered at the bottom so as not to be too disruptive to the actual mask above.
5. Hand out, wear all day and have fun, silly! LOL!

Here is a video link to the mustache as well.
