Spring Recital layout & card Rubber Buggy Dt project / challenge entry Dannielle Brown

Hi friends it's Kelly here and today I have a project share for you that doubles as a Design team project. It is a challenge entry for Dannielle Brown over on youtube who is a newbie and reached over 150 subbies so she is having a challenge.  I will link her channel below if you are interested and want to enter you can find all the details on her video.

I also have these projects as my Design team projects for The Rubber Buggy for this week.  I've used the Dienamics die from MFT @ The Rubber Buggy for the yellow doilies in the layout and in the card.  The card also is using Wild Orchid Crafts flowers in cherry blossom light blues. I love these colors and was grateful to Dannielle for having this challenge because it forced me to put together another layout and get some more work done in my scrapbook albums.  So happy about that!!!!

Easter Fun Doilies SWAP...information below....

Hi everyone it's Kelly here and I am in the mood for a spring swap.  What better swap to do at this time than a beautiful paper doily swap.  I decided to open the swap for signups till the end of March I will list all the details below so if you are interested please feel free to sign up either here or over on my youtube channel and I will email you with details once everyone has their groups.  Last time I did a swap there were a few people who flaked out so I had to switch some partners around and it became a mess and so one rule; if you please want to sign up then I ask that you are able and willing to fulfill your duties as a swapper.  It's only fair and kind to give those who are entering the same respect in return.  So here are the rules:

  • 1.  Depending on how many sign up you will make, alter, or just send paper doilies.  If you want to just go buy some paper doilies and send those that is fine, if you want to glimmermist paper doilies and then send those that is also fine.  If you want to completely cut & alter your own paper doilies that is also fine but not too fancy I want to keep this very basic.
  • 2. Signups will be open till March 31st.
  • 3.  Each person in the swap will send and receive 5 doilies per person, I know this sounds like a lot but I have that pack of 25 paper doilies so all I have to do is get 5 people to sign up and I can send each person 5 doilies and so forth.  Hopefully if more sign up then each person would receive 5 different types of doilies, but this is all depending on the amount that sign up and I will keep you updated in the coming week.
  • 4.  You must ship it to me by April 30th and also ship a Self Addressed Stamped Envelope for me to mail them back to you or at least the cost of the shipping for return shipment.
  • 5.  I will email each person or personal message via youtube with your group details on or before April 5th.
  • 6.  If you have any questions please feel free to email or message or comment to me and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
Thanks and happy swapping!

Greeting Farm & LaLaLand contests

For the month of March I was working on an album for my cousin's baby shower.  I used a few stamps & digis to create a few layouts and my daughter helped me get this all together as well so I used the color schemes that were requested in a few contests so I feel like I killed two birds with one stone.  I love when I feel so accomplished, now I probably won't win anyway but at least it feels good to reach a goal of some sort right?  Okay well on with my entries....

THE GREETING FARM ENTRY:

I used the digi image of the little firefighter Ian and made a 2 pg layout with him.  I had to paper piece something on the image so I paper pieced his little firefighter uniform and part of the hat; I did go over it a little with copics to give it a little bit of dimension but I really liked how he turned out.

FIREFIGHTER IAN

My next entry is actually from LaLaLand and it's the Luca Pilot?  I'm not sure if that is the name but he is pretending to be an airpilot and he has his trusty dog by his side.  This was something my daughter and I wanted to put together for my cousins baby album and so here it is; pretty simple but she loved it anyway.

Happy Birthday Margaret!!!!

Happy Birthday to a special little girlie, that is what my post is about today.  My daughter's has a birthday today and so we made her a cute little box to go along with the gift that we picked out for her.

Materials needed:
Paper 2 sheets cut 8 1/2 x 8 1/2 and 8 x 8
Embellishments
ribbons/laces
flowers
hot glue or glue you prefer

Assemble:
Score paper at 1 inch the whole way around both sheets
Fold and cut in each side of corner and then taper to create box effect.
Glue and line inside and outside with paper
Cover with lace, I added mesh bling over the lace for added glimmer effect.
Lined the top in a cross fashion with other lace to mimic the look of ribbon on the box
Covered in layers of acrylic flowers, pearl sprays, wheat sprays from Mbtreasurista.com
Added petaloo flowers from a spray
Added rosette center from Mbtreasurista and acrylic organza sequin flower center.
Created little tag with papers, distressing tool edges, and sharpie pen.

Plant Personality Test....love this I am a........

This absolutely suits me to a T!

DANDELION:  You Are: Scrappy and tough, you’re a pull-yourself-up-by-your-bootstraps kind of person. You don’t give up easily and you often thrive in situations that others would find discouraging. You have an instinct to serve others and see yourself as most useful in times or places of crisis, but you may over rely on your toughness and forget how sensitive you really are.

PASSIONFLOWER:  You Are: Deeply concerned about others and the world around you, you have a developed sense of what’s right and just. You’re a bit of an idealist and strive to see your vision of perfection realized in the world. On occasion you get out of balance, and you may feel a deep sense of unease and be prone to worry—especially at night, tossing and turning over all that is wrong or that needs fixing.

SLIPPERYELM:  You Are: Let’s just say you’re a vocal person. Sure, that might mean you’re chatty. But it also means you’re the one humming in the hallway, singing in the shower, speaking your mind, standing up and shouting if need be to get yourself heard. You’ve got a voice and you know how to use it. Inclined to speak up for the voiceless, defend the defenseless or simply bring joy to the joyless, you may have a tendency to overuse your voice.

I'm so Ready for Summer.......please come....

It's time to bypass spring and head straight for summer, well not really but I'm ready for this bitter cold winter weather to end and ready to put on the swimsuits, head for warmer weather, and a dip in the pool.  With that in mind let me share my newest creation with you a layout of my sister & daughter last year at the pool.

Rubber Buggy Products I used were:
Bo Bunny key lime jewels
Wild Orchid crafts cherry blossoms, mulberry mini roses, and carnations
Mulberry leaves

Now I'm ready for summer so feel free to bring on the rays!
Have a blessed week ~Kelly

Handmade goodies to share

Sometimes I get bored with the same old, same old in the crafting world of scrapbooking.  It is then that I sit down with my glue gun and get to work.

Materials needed:
A hot glue gun
Some ribbon or lace
Some pretty centers, flowers, jewels, sequins
A little extra time on my hands

After a few hours this is the end result, some pretty shabby chic flowers for projects or swaps.  Prettiness in full bloom.  If I have the winter blues, making some handmade flowers puts me right in the mood for spring to finally come, so here are a few photos and project shares for you to see.  Have a blessed day!  ~Kelly

Welcome little baby ....card share

Hi everyone it's Kelly here.  I have a card share today that includes a message for my cousin and her new baby boy.  We are having a shower for her soon and I wanted to make her a card so I included some paper and a die from the Rubber Buggy.

The paper I used was Authentique traditions, it is a christmas paper pad but worked very well for this card with beautiful blues.  The die was a MFT die called doily dies and worked great as a background for the stickers I wanted to use for this card.  I hope you like it!    Many blessings....~Kelly
