The Panic of The "DIDDL TORCH"

So my daughter has been cleaning her room out and putting stuff in boxes to get rid of. As I'm going through everything and separating it ; I almost in a panic come across this little piece of treasure and my stomach drops. Please tell me what insane crazed weirdo would make a child's flashlight look like this and call it a Diddl Torch???? Yes seriously that is the name of it.

Wintery Wonderland

I will be the first person to admit that I despise winter.  I miss summer so badly sometimes it makes me angry.  Today I looked out the window of the office where I work and here is what I saw a little fit of flurry coming down; just a dusting and a neighborly amish buggy parked in front of an old distressed looking garage.  It's a simple life here, simple life, simple minds, simple people....lots of judgmental mentalities in this little world I live in and although I embrace as much culture in other areas of the surrounding cities; it all comes back to this.
LIVE SIMPLY SO THAT OTHERS MAY SIMPLY LIVE.

Crossing Monkey Bars

About 5 months ago my husband and I separated and it's been one of the most difficult experiences in my life; thus I left everything else go by the wayside. Recently I had a friend encourage me I should get back into crafting but my comment was my heart just isn't into it; which is the truth. I have been commissioned by someone local to do a memorial album for them for a family member as well as a heritage album for someone else so I have until Thanksgiving to finish one and till the end of the year to finish the other.

I will be changing my youtube channel and my blog as well due to the fact that my husbands name was in the partially in the title of my identity; it's time I press on forward and see what else lies ahead...while making my own identity. So my first comment is that my new blog will be called ," JustAnArtsyMomma" and here is the link if you would like to subscribe http://justanartsymomma.blogspot.com/ . 2nd if you have been through your own crafty slump; what helped you get back into your crafting and setting the motivation started again in the right direction?

Thanks for all your support and emails while I have been away you guys & gals are the very best

Someday...by Nickelback lyrics

"SOMEDAY"
by Nickelback
they own all the rights to this song
best describes my life right now

How the hell did we wind up like this?
Why weren't we able, to see the signs that we missed
And try turn the tables

I wish you'd unclench your fists, and unpack your suitcase
Lately there's been too much of this
But don't think it's too late

Nothing's wrong, just as long as
You know that someday I will

Someday, somehow
I'm gonna make it all right but not right now
I know you're wondering when
(You're the only one who knows that)
Someday, somehow
I'm gonna make it all right but not right now
I know you're wondering when

Well I'd hope that since we're here anyway
That we could end up saying
Things we've always needed to say
So we could end up staying
Now the story's played out like this
Just like a paperback novel
Let's rewrite an ending that fits
Instead of a Hollywood horror

Nothing's wrong, just as long as
You know that someday I will

Someday, somehow
I'm gonna make it all right but not right now
I know you're wondering when
(You're the only one who knows that)
Someday, somehow
I'm gonna make it all right but not right now
I know you're wondering when
(You're the only one who knows that)

How the hell did we wind up like this?
Why weren't we able, to see the signs that we missed
And try to turn the tables
Now the story's played out like this
Just like a paperback novel
Let's rewrite an ending that fits
Instead of a Hollywood horror

Nothing's wrong, just as long as
You know that someday I will

Someday, somehow
I'm gonna make it all right but not right now
I know you're wondering when
(You're the only one who knows that)
Someday, somehow
I'm gonna make it all right but not right now
I know you're wondering when
(You're the only one who knows that)
I know you're wondering when
(You're the only one who knows that)
I know you're wondering when

Graphic 45 Celebrate Spring Sweet Sentiments gift bag

Hi everyone.  Hope you are having a blessed spring, it's been beautiful here which has caused me to spend much more time outside and less time inside being able to craft but I did come up with this beautiful little spring bag that I am using to send a special gift out to a friend.

I used the Sweet Sentiments line from Graphic 45 available at The Rubber Buggy.  I fussy cut the diecut cards and adhered them with foam adhesive for dimension.  I used a bit of trims to accent and a doily to create a beautiful opening/closure for the top.  The butterflies were also fussy cut from the paper, as well as the title.  I also used Prima flowers from the store at the bottom they are from the Divine line.  I hope you like it!

I did decide to add a LaLa Land stamped image to the bag after I posted on the Rubber Buggy Blog but it's okay, I did fussy cut her in the paper line as well and she's just darling, or at least I think so.

Many blessings ~Kelly

Yummy fruit smoothie today.....

I started a workout program basically walking every day for at least 30 minutes.  I havent' gotten on the scales yet but I know that if I continue to push through every ache and pain I will come out on the other side of this hard and painful journey.

I walked one night with my sister and I wanted to give up so terribly, and then the pain set in, ache, tiresome-ness, lack of drive, and just plain flat out disgust in all the work it takes to push through all the issues I've dealt with that I have allowed my body to take over a life of it's own, well I'm taking it back.  Something snapped and I was so angry, I told my sister & daughter to please stop talking to me I could barely breathe as I walked uphill, and then I knew, I did this; but I can take the power back.  Next thing I knew I was crying, I don't know why.  Something broke, something let loose, whatever hold was on me for so long, all the pain, all the frustration, all the lack, the hurt, the lack of self worth, the criticism ....everything was gone and I was literally sobbing.  Whatever it was I left behind me on that walk that day.

This is not only a journey of weight loss but a journey of finding myself again, the true me.  The deep down, gut wrenching truth of who I am and once was and finding that balance again with who I am now, and who I was.

Today I walked for 65 minutes with a friend, we went out for brunch and then I came home and did 30 more minutes of a mix of pilates and trampoline exercises.  I rewarded myself with a healthy fruit smoothie.  I eat healthy, that is not the problem most of the time it's learning to get back up on my feet when I feel knocked down and pressing onward forcing the pain of strongholds to no longer take their hold on me so here's to the next step, here's to my new painstaking journey, here's to a new happiness, and the color purple!

Easy peasy recipe:
1/4 cup blueberries
1/4 cup raspberries
1/2 banana
5 ice cubes
1 1/2 cups milk

I used my magic bullet to blend and enjoy!
Many blessings to you today!  ~Kelly

Happy Easter treats everyone peep in a basket

You will need:
Donuts
Peeps

This is the cutest little treat and easy to throw together for a great Easter treat.  They were a hit at our Easter gathering and let me tell you most of the time when I take things I have made they usually end up coming home with me.   I am not a baker or a chef, I do have fun with it once in a while but if you are like me and love the art of food more than the preparation of it, here is an easy to do treat!

By the Sea Graphic 45 card

Hi friends it's Kelly here with a card made from the beautiful By the Sea line from Graphic 45.  I made this to compliment summer pics and pages from last year and I just enjoyed fussy cutting these little elements from the paper to put them together.   I used a little pop adhesive to make them 3-d and off the page then added some flower and layered the fussy cut seashells in the corner above the ribbon.  I also used a few Bo Bunny jewels in the corner of the Postage diecut also from the collection, just a little sparkle.  You can still get these papers and paper pad and elements from the Rubber Buggy store.  They truly are amazing and you will love them for your summer pics.  Blessings, ~Kelly

Graphic 45 By the sea summer layout 12 x 12

Hi everyone it's Kelly and I want to share this layout with you of my daughter at the seashore. I did whiteout the photos of her in her bathing suit but I wanted to share that I used the Graphic 45 By the Sea paper pad from the Rubber Buggy store and I loved it.  The hearts and the arrows at the bottom were from the paper line as well as the journaling spot on the upper right hand corner.  It's pretty simple but yet I really like how it displays the colors of the paper and the photos.

Thank you for visiting  ~Kelly

Spring Recital layout & card Rubber Buggy Dt project / challenge entry Dannielle Brown

Hi friends it's Kelly here and today I have a project share for you that doubles as a Design team project. It is a challenge entry for Dannielle Brown over on youtube who is a newbie and reached over 150 subbies so she is having a challenge.  I will link her channel below if you are interested and want to enter you can find all the details on her video.

I also have these projects as my Design team projects for The Rubber Buggy for this week.  I've used the Dienamics die from MFT @ The Rubber Buggy for the yellow doilies in the layout and in the card.  The card also is using Wild Orchid Crafts flowers in cherry blossom light blues. I love these colors and was grateful to Dannielle for having this challenge because it forced me to put together another layout and get some more work done in my scrapbook albums.  So happy about that!!!!

Easter Fun Doilies SWAP...information below....

Hi everyone it's Kelly here and I am in the mood for a spring swap.  What better swap to do at this time than a beautiful paper doily swap.  I decided to open the swap for signups till the end of March I will list all the details below so if you are interested please feel free to sign up either here or over on my youtube channel and I will email you with details once everyone has their groups.  Last time I did a swap there were a few people who flaked out so I had to switch some partners around and it became a mess and so one rule; if you please want to sign up then I ask that you are able and willing to fulfill your duties as a swapper.  It's only fair and kind to give those who are entering the same respect in return.  So here are the rules:

  • 1.  Depending on how many sign up you will make, alter, or just send paper doilies.  If you want to just go buy some paper doilies and send those that is fine, if you want to glimmermist paper doilies and then send those that is also fine.  If you want to completely cut & alter your own paper doilies that is also fine but not too fancy I want to keep this very basic.
  • 2. Signups will be open till March 31st.
  • 3.  Each person in the swap will send and receive 5 doilies per person, I know this sounds like a lot but I have that pack of 25 paper doilies so all I have to do is get 5 people to sign up and I can send each person 5 doilies and so forth.  Hopefully if more sign up then each person would receive 5 different types of doilies, but this is all depending on the amount that sign up and I will keep you updated in the coming week.
  • 4.  You must ship it to me by April 30th and also ship a Self Addressed Stamped Envelope for me to mail them back to you or at least the cost of the shipping for return shipment.
  • 5.  I will email each person or personal message via youtube with your group details on or before April 5th.
  • 6.  If you have any questions please feel free to email or message or comment to me and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
Thanks and happy swapping!

Greeting Farm & LaLaLand contests

For the month of March I was working on an album for my cousin's baby shower.  I used a few stamps & digis to create a few layouts and my daughter helped me get this all together as well so I used the color schemes that were requested in a few contests so I feel like I killed two birds with one stone.  I love when I feel so accomplished, now I probably won't win anyway but at least it feels good to reach a goal of some sort right?  Okay well on with my entries....

THE GREETING FARM ENTRY:

I used the digi image of the little firefighter Ian and made a 2 pg layout with him.  I had to paper piece something on the image so I paper pieced his little firefighter uniform and part of the hat; I did go over it a little with copics to give it a little bit of dimension but I really liked how he turned out.

FIREFIGHTER IAN

My next entry is actually from LaLaLand and it's the Luca Pilot?  I'm not sure if that is the name but he is pretending to be an airpilot and he has his trusty dog by his side.  This was something my daughter and I wanted to put together for my cousins baby album and so here it is; pretty simple but she loved it anyway.

Happy Birthday Margaret!!!!

Happy Birthday to a special little girlie, that is what my post is about today.  My daughter's has a birthday today and so we made her a cute little box to go along with the gift that we picked out for her.

Materials needed:
Paper 2 sheets cut 8 1/2 x 8 1/2 and 8 x 8
Embellishments
ribbons/laces
flowers
hot glue or glue you prefer

Assemble:
Score paper at 1 inch the whole way around both sheets
Fold and cut in each side of corner and then taper to create box effect.
Glue and line inside and outside with paper
Cover with lace, I added mesh bling over the lace for added glimmer effect.
Lined the top in a cross fashion with other lace to mimic the look of ribbon on the box
Covered in layers of acrylic flowers, pearl sprays, wheat sprays from Mbtreasurista.com
Added petaloo flowers from a spray
Added rosette center from Mbtreasurista and acrylic organza sequin flower center.
Created little tag with papers, distressing tool edges, and sharpie pen.

Plant Personality Test....love this I am a........

This absolutely suits me to a T!

DANDELION:  You Are: Scrappy and tough, you’re a pull-yourself-up-by-your-bootstraps kind of person. You don’t give up easily and you often thrive in situations that others would find discouraging. You have an instinct to serve others and see yourself as most useful in times or places of crisis, but you may over rely on your toughness and forget how sensitive you really are.

PASSIONFLOWER:  You Are: Deeply concerned about others and the world around you, you have a developed sense of what’s right and just. You’re a bit of an idealist and strive to see your vision of perfection realized in the world. On occasion you get out of balance, and you may feel a deep sense of unease and be prone to worry—especially at night, tossing and turning over all that is wrong or that needs fixing.

SLIPPERYELM:  You Are: Let’s just say you’re a vocal person. Sure, that might mean you’re chatty. But it also means you’re the one humming in the hallway, singing in the shower, speaking your mind, standing up and shouting if need be to get yourself heard. You’ve got a voice and you know how to use it. Inclined to speak up for the voiceless, defend the defenseless or simply bring joy to the joyless, you may have a tendency to overuse your voice.

Welcome little baby ....card share

Hi everyone it's Kelly here.  I have a card share today that includes a message for my cousin and her new baby boy.  We are having a shower for her soon and I wanted to make her a card so I included some paper and a die from the Rubber Buggy.

The paper I used was Authentique traditions, it is a christmas paper pad but worked very well for this card with beautiful blues.  The die was a MFT die called doily dies and worked great as a background for the stickers I wanted to use for this card.  I hope you like it!    Many blessings....~Kelly

Saturated Canary " WALKIE "

Hi everyone I've made a card this week with the Saturated Canary Image called WALKIE.  You can find her here at the Rubber Buggy  .  She is a super cute image and I decided to play her up simply with a hand drawn rainbow border and then I added a few hearts to it to give it a pop of more color.  Super simple but I really like how it turned out because it's going in my daughter scrapbook album.  Sometimes you don't need a lot of embellishments to feel creative and this was one of those times.  This would be fun to do with any of the amazing images that are offered on the Rubber Buggy site.

Many blessings ~Kelly

"Hoppy" Valentines Day!

Happy Valentines Day everyone or should I say "Hoppy" Valentines.  We have another valentines under our belt and this means my daughter is a year older.  She is my valentines baby and we share lots of love around here during this wonderful holiday.

This year she wanted to make her treats; being that it is her last year of elementary school she wanted to go out with a bang so we went to pinterest. These would be great for a boys or girls birthday party in a frog theme as well, they were super easy, a bit messy but fun for the whole family.  Molly even had her daddy putting eyes and tongues on the frogs.  Ewwww gross!  LOL!   Here is what we made:

Froggy valentines treats.

You will need:
OREO cookies
Mini classic pretzels
Green candy wafers
Candy eyeballs
Red candy treats

Assemble by covering pretzel and oreo in green wafer candy melts.  Then layer 2 pretzels to 1 Oreo.  Add red candy tongue and eyeballs.  We used wax paper to let them dry, then moved them to their bags to distribute in her class.

Hope you like them, let me know if you try them out.  Have a blessed day, ~Kelly

Greeting Farm Stamp Club Stamp #2 TRESS

Hi friends, it's that time again and I would like to share with you the newest of the stamp club stamps I received in the mail today and she's a beauty.  Another "Disney" type stamp this one reminds me of Rapunzel and her name is "TRESS".  Can't you tell how she was perfectly named just by looking at that amazingly beautiful mane full of golden locks.  She is a beauty and this one is another super fun one to color.  One more month and then signups will be open again, well hopefully, I don't have any info yet but I am keeping my ears out for all the information.  I will make sure I share with all my crafty friends when I find out, it's sure to be another fun "Happy Mail" surprise!

Now without further ado; here she is....

Video of copic colors will be uploaded to youtube.com/walkelmol.

Coffee and friends a perfect blend

Hi friend's it's Kelly here on this blustery windy and snowy Thursday.  We have over 6 inches here just in one day which gave me the perfect opportunity to create a card for a friend's birthday coming up at the end of the month.  I chose this adorable & fun stamp by Stamping Bella sold at The Rubber Buggy.  I colored the image with copics and then added some different shapes of papers for texture then added ribbon and a cute flower cabochon.   I cant' wait to give it to her and hope she likes it, coffee & friends what's a girl not to like about that combo.  Bundle up and stay warm friends, Happy Crafting!

Hi friends it's Kelly here and I'm in the mood to travel so let's go to Wonderland with this absolutely adorable Saturated Canary image Alice.  She is modeled after the Alice in Wonderland and she is just so fun to color & stamp.   I cant' wait to do more stamping with her.  I also added the Designed labels die to this card and used the Prima Anna Maria papers from The Rubber Buggy.  Last I added some of the Petaloo flowers in the black to accent and they are just perfect for this adorable little piece.

Layered Keyhole note card

Today I have a new card to share with you that I created.  I used an EK Success punch that is actually used to make rolled flowers, but I used it to layer some amazing detail at the bottom of my card.  I then layered the same colored paper at the top and added the ribbon you see from Websters pages that reminded me of a zipper.  I used a Graphic 45 keyhole then and added some pearl bling from Prima on the nail holes.  The paper was from The Rubber Buggy and it's called Prima Hello Pastel.  I finished the card off with a beautiful crochet lace ribbon bow.

Rubber Buggy products used were:

Hello Pastel 6x6 paper from Prima
Graphic 45 ornate metal key holes

Thanks for looking ~Kelly

The Greeting Farm Stamp Club # 1 Stamp " FAIREST "

In January I joined the Greeting Farm stamp club.  It's a new stamp club they created for amazing new designs in stamps and you get a significant discount, plus just the anxiety and excitement of waiting for the mail for that new exclusive package is the most fun.  The club was $26 + $3 per stamp a total of $29 for me.  It will cost a bit different with each state for shipping.  If you have already signed up let me know what you think of your first stamp and if you havent', the next batch of club opening will be happening sometime in March so look forward to that coming.  Here is the newest lady of the bunch and how I colored her, my own "SNOW WHITE" Fairest of them all!

A card of Reflection for The Rubber Buggy

I made a card this week as I was thinking about the past year and what I would like for 2014 and so I decided to do a card with the title reflect.  I am thinking of sending this to a friend of whom I havent' seen in a while and thinking about our time spent apart has made me miss her terribly.  I want to reflect on our old/good times and look forward to more in the upcoming year.

I used The Rubber Buggy Prima Anna Maria paper for this card and it's pretty simple.
I added some Petaloo flowers and a few dark houndstooth print accent colors and the image is Saturated Canary colored with my copics.

Thanks for looking!  ~Kelly
